- Noosa Surf festival (4-11 March)
The Noosa Festival of Surfing, the world’s largest surfing event by competitor numbers, returns for 8 Days of Pure Stoke with events for grommets to grandpas, dogs, body surfers, specialty and pro divisions. Organisers expect to beat the 2016 competitor numbers which saw more than 800 entries from more than 20 countries. Age divisions are from under 15 to over 70, and there are 11 specialty events, including nose-riding, bodysurfing, finless and the popular Surfing Dog Spectacular. The Beach Bar, right on the sand at First Point has nightly entertainment, live music, film screenings and talks - as well as beautiful sunset views.
- Australia Body Art Festival (8 - 9 April)
The Australian Body Art Festival returns in 2017 with a new home in Cooroy, in the Noosa hinterland. This year’s theme is Wonderland and the program includes brush and sponge, airbrush, special effects, face painting, wearable art, best model and photography competitions.
- Ulraman Australia (13-15 May)
Join the ultimate challenge down under as Ultraman returns to Noosa for 3 days of incredible feats of endurance through the beautiful waters and hinterland of the Noosa region. Competitors complete a 10km swim, 420km bike ride and 84.4km run against a backdrop of Noosa's Laguna Bay, Noosa National Park and hinterland.
- Noosa Food and Wine Festival (18-21 May)
Discover new flavours and great Australian wines at Noosa Food & Wine 2017, with some of Australia's best chefs in beautiful beach, river and hinterland locations.This year's event has three Festival villages - The Junction, The Beach and The Woods where you can meet some of the best chefs from around Australia, showcasing some of the country's finest produce. Joining them will be more than 40 of Australia's best wine makers. The Woods Wine and Produce Village is new to the event and will be open on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday with entertainment and space to relax and sample exceptional local produce, charcuterie and cheese from across Australia.
